VOIVOD: 'War And Pain' Vinyl Reissue Due In May

March 15, 2011

War on Music Records has announced the upcoming LP reissue of "War And Pain", the classic debut album by Canadian metal innovators VOIVOD. Originally released in 1984, "War And Pain" was reissued by Metal Blade in 2004 as a three-CD box set, but has long remained out of print on vinyl. Due in May, the vinyl reissue has been carefully re-mastered from the original reels, and features the iconic album art of VOIVOD drummer Michel "Away" Langevin in a full-color gatefold jacket. The pressing is limited to 1,000 copies.

VOIVOD will release a new live album, "Warriors Of Ice", on April 5 via Indica Records. The CD was recorded on December 12, 2009 during the band's first headlining show in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in ten years.

VOIVOD is currently working on material for a new studio album. The CD will contain the band's first music to be written with new guitarist Dan Mongrain (MARTYR) following the passing of Denis "Piggy" D'Amour in 2005.
